Jo Rose Design rebrands as Wag Theory and launches custom-made dog jacket

Wag Theory fosters the connection between dogs and their humans

Portland OR, August 18, 2020 -- Today, Two Doods by Jo Rose Design, a small handcrafted dogwear business, announced their rebrand to Wag Theory. The business originated in 2019 when founder and designer, Jenny Ostoj, set out to create a stylish yet functional dog rain jacket that matched the performance and esthetic urban dog owners like herself were looking for. The rebrand encompasses the underlying passion of the business, which is fostering the connection between pups and their humans. It also marks the launch of a custom made-to-order jacket.

Wag Theory now offers stylish yet functional in-stock jackets, made-to-order jackets based on exact measurements, dog backpacks, and other accessories utilizing materials such as waxed canvas and biothane that look great and provide adequate coverage for rainy outdoor walks and hikes.

The business currently designs and creates all of its products in house in a small studio in NW Portland. Due to COVID-19, Wag Theory has shifted almost exclusively to online sales through its website and social media, though hopes to vend at in-person markets and fairs again in the future.

Quality and craftsmanship are also key tenants of the brand. A recent customer commented, “I’m pretty sure this jacket is more well-made than most of mine! And it looks SO GOOD on my dog. It’s super well-made, stylish, and easy to put on.”

With Americans spending more time at home than ever, dog adoptions and ownership have increased as families seek the companionship that dogs provide. Jenny Ostoj sees her company helping bridge the functional needs of a dog and the emotional connection that the humans gain from spending time with their four-legged family member.

Jenny says, “The products I create are aimed at making it easier or more delightful to get outside with your pup, rain or shine. Whether that be for a hike or just a walk in the neighborhood, fostering that connection with your dog will lift your mood and make you feel better. And that’s really what Wag Theory is all about.”
