What's New in August 2020!

by Jenny Ostoj August 15, 2020

Holy smokes, you guys, I have so many announcements to make! You might need to grab a cup of coffee to read through all of this. (But probably not nearly as much caffeine was needed to make all of these updates on my end, haha! :-D )

The official launch of Wag Theory

First and foremost, I want to extend an official welcome to Wag Theory! This rebrand/renaming of my business has been in the works for many months, and I'm SO excited to finally move forward with the new name that better encompasses the underlying passion of this brand that has been there all along!

Look! I even made a video about it.

New Product Arrivals

As we near the fall months, I'm excited to be releasing 3 new bandana prints, plus 2 BRAND NEW products -- hip packs and biothane leashes!

Here is the link to the new collection (but don't click away just yet, because there's more exciting news to read below!)

New Arrivals

Product Personalization

Being able to personalize your pup's gear is super fun and special. Bandanas, waterproof (biothane) leashes, and backpacks can all be personalized now with a name or phrase! And I've simplified the process for making it happen. You'll be able to add this as an upcharge right as you add the item to the cart. Plus, I've added more lettering colors for you to choose from!

Jackets: In-stock vs Custom Made-to-Order

I've made changes to the way you can order your pup's new jacket, just in time for fall! You'll see that there are now two jacket sections:

In-stock jackets

These are the jackets I have on hand in my studio pre-made and are available to ship immediately. This section will get updated periodically with stock (that will be announced by email and social media, so be sure to follow along there!). I've also simplified the return/exchange process for these jackets in case you *think* a standard size will fit but need the assurance that you can exchange it if it won't work. See the policy section below for more details!

Custom made-to-order jacket

The custom option gives you the ultimate flexibility and is great for pups that may not fit the standard sizes. Plus you get so many fun choices to make when it comes to color, hardware, and the type of collar you'd prefer!

Additional guidance

I've added a few new features to help you as you pick out your pup's jacket!

Swatches are now available (plus I'll include a flexible measuring tape with your swatch order if you'd like) and the cost of the swatches will be discounted from the purchase of a jacket.

I'm now offering fit consultations by phone to answer any questions you may have. Just book a 15 minute call through the app and I'll look forward to chatting with you!

Average breed sizes have been added to the in-stock landing page to help narrow you in on what size you might need. Please note that measuring your dog is ALWAYS recommended to ensure you'll be the most satisfied with your purchase since pups come in all shapes and sizes, just like humans do!

Free gift with purchase - limited time only

To celebrate the launch, all purchases made between now and Monday, August 25th will include a fun free gift of two Wag Theory waste bag rolls plus a three-pack of button pins with fun dog-lover phrases! But hurry, because I'll only be including these with orders placed through Monday, August 25th!

Rewards program - now earn Wag Points!

You can now earn rewards for purchasing Wag Theory gear and for referring your friends to the brand! Check out the rewards tab for more details and I hope you'll sign up today to start earning Wag Points!

New policies that you'll love!

Returns + Exchanges:

We've implemented an online portal to simplify the process of exchanges and returns (for store credit only). As always, you'll be responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to us, but we've added a new clause to our policy that we'll cover the shipping cost of getting your new item to you (one time only) for exchanges!

Puppy discount:

We know how exciting it is to get a new puppy, and how fast they outgrow their gear! So we are pleased to offer a one-time upgrade discount of 25% per item purchased for your pup (valid within 1 year of your original purchase date). We just ask that you send back your outgrown gear so that it can be donated to a pup in need through our non-profit partner!

Local launch event details soon

I hope to organize a socially distant launch event in Portland soon to take a moment to celebrate this big milestone and all of the fun that is to come over the following months and years! Stay tuned for more details soon on this soon!

Introducing Auggie + Taylor

by Jenny Ostoj September 14, 2020

I have met so many amazing pups and their humans online through Instagram. But often the exchanges that happen are quick and surface level, so I wanted to start a "Get to Know You" series to dig a bit deeper to learn more about the special connection that pups and humans have in our awesome community.

To kick it off, I reached out to Taylor and Auggie, and here’s what I learned about their story and life together.
